Our Boston Contouring with Deoxycholic Acid Course at Aesthetic Mentor is an elective training program for medical professionals seeking to learn the safe and effective injection of deoxycholic acid to reduce fat in the submental area and address the appearance of a double chin.
Deoxycholic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the human body that helps break down dietary fats. When administered through a series of subcutaneous injections, deoxycholic acid begins working immediately to disrupt fat cells, which are broken down by the body and permanently removed.
The 30-minute didactic portion of the program is delivered as a web-based, On-Demand activity. Enrolled students first complete this self-paced module, which reviews indications, contraindications, treatment planning, injection mapping, and post-procedure care. After passing the On-Demand assessment, participants become eligible to register for the second portion of the training that focuses on live demonstrations and guided, practical instruction.
Once the didactic component is successfully completed, students are scheduled into a 4-hour, in-person session dedicated to hands-on training. During this live course, participants observe instructor-led demonstrations and then perform injections under direct supervision. A small class size allows for individualized feedback, ample hands-on practice, and case-based discussion to reinforce safe technique and predictable aesthetic results.
