Find Out More About Aesthetic Mentor™
RNs and NPs are at the forefront of patient care and are experiencing an increasing amount of burnout. The traumatic and difficult patient care situations caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has escalated this emotional exhaustion, leaving many nurses in a state of burnout, suffering from PTSD, anxiety, and depression.
The aesthetic market is booming, and the demand for aesthetic nurses and injectors has never been greater. The national average salary for an aesthetic nurse is around $90,000, with the capability of earning double or triple that depending on your experience. Compared to hospital work, many nurses find the private practice setting more conducive to establishing a greater work/life balance.
Aesthetic Mentor™ offers a range of intensive, hands-on courses designed to equip you with the skills and confidence to excel in medical aesthetics.

| Which Aesthetic Mentor™ course do I take first?
Novice injectors should begin with Introduction to Neurotoxins, followed by Introduction to Dermal Fillers. Taking inspiration from the Dreyfus and Benner models of skill acquisition, Aesthetic Mentor™'s curriculum is strategically designed to move students from novice to expert for long-term success. Our Student Advisors can help you customize the ideal learning path. Contact: guideme@theaestheticmentor.com
| Who teaches the courses?
All courses are led by Board-certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. Joseph Russo and taught by his team of experienced clinical instructors. Aesthetic Mentor™ also collaborates with industry experts to offer special lectures, workshops, and roundtables. Sign up for email updates to stay informed about new course offerings.
| Who is eligible to participate in your courses?
Aesthetic Mentor™ trains licensed medical professionals, including LPN, RN, NP, CRNA, MD, DO, PA, and DDS. Licensed estheticians may also take specific classes noted in the course description.
You must hold an active medical license to participate in injectable courses and be prepared to submit your license for verification.
Hands-on participation varies based on state Board regulations. Review event details before registering. Boston & Hartford Student Advisors can assist with any questions.
| Do I need to have a medical director in order to train?
No medical director is required—only an active license.
Aesthetic Mentor™ provides supervising physicians and authorized prescribers at all training facilities. They use proprietary EMR software for charting and compliance, and instructors ensure proper charting, delegation, and treatment planning.
Note: LPN, RN, NP, CRNA, and PA professionals must follow state Board supervision regulations when treating patients after training. All cosmetic medical treatments must follow established medical laws and protocols.
For more information on compliant aesthetic practice, visit a-map.org (Association for Medical Aesthetic Professionals).
| Where are the classes held?
Most courses are hybrid, combining online didactic modules with in-person, hands-on practicum sessions.
On-location courses are hosted at one of our two locations:
Boston, MA
303 Wyman Street, Suite 150, Waltham, MA 02451
Hartford, CT
95 Glastonbury Boulevard. 3rd Floor, Suite 303, Glastonbury, CT 06033
Class type and location are noted in the class description. On-demand and online portions MUST be completed prior to attending your on-location clinic training.
See our Course Calendar pages for location information!
| Is the clinic size limited?
Yes. Clinic size is intentionally limited to maintain a 2:1 student-to-instructor ratio, ensuring an intimate, high-quality learning experience.
| Will I need to bring a model for training?
All hands-on training is performed on models under the supervision of a certified Instructor.
For the strongest educational experience, we encourage you to bring a model you know so you can follow their treatment results over time. If a course requires you to bring a model, their treatment is included in your tuition—consider them your first lifelong patient!
Each course description outlines model requirements, and follow-up emails will include model selection criteria to help you choose the most appropriate model for your training.
| How does the on-demand training work?
Most courses begin with online didactic learning through our on-demand platform. Content is divided into short, easy-to-follow modules that you can complete on your own schedule, within a 2–4 week deadline to keep you on track.
Your progress is recorded, and once completed, you may revisit any module.
Some modules include short, unscored quizzes. A final exam at the end of the on-demand course determines whether you're ready to proceed; you have up to two attempts to pass.
You should complete the coordinating hands-on clinic within 2–4 weeks after finishing the online content for best retention.
| How does a live class or clinic work?
Live courses and clinics are filled on a first-come, first-served basis and often sell out well in advance. Because models must be arranged, we recommend securing your spot as early as possible.
You will select your clinic date during registration.
If your course has an on-demand prerequisite, it must be fully completed before attending your clinic. Students who do not complete the on-demand didactic will not be allowed to participate, and the cancellation policy will still apply.
| What is your cancellation policy?
